When to call emergency services
Call 911 (U.S.) or your local emergency number for trouble breathing, chest pain, confusion, seizures or other emergency warning signs.
Call 911 in the United States, or your local emergency number, for:
- Severe difficulty breathing
- Chest pain or pressure that doesn't go away
- Confusion, or can't wake up or stay awake
- Blue, gray or very pale lips, face or skin
- A seizure
- Signs of severe dehydration (no urine for many hours, very dry mouth, dizziness when standing)
112 works in the European Union and many other countries. Travel reports show the emergency number for each destination where it is known; numbers marked "pending verification" should be confirmed locally.
