Terms of Use
Effective and last updated
These terms apply to the OutbreakWatch website and iPhone app, operated by Infinivue Inc. By using OutbreakWatch you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
What OutbreakWatch is
OutbreakWatch is a free information service that brings together public data and notices published by official organizations such as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), and presents them with plain-language summaries, maps and action guides. OutbreakWatch is not a government agency and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the CDC, WHO or any other source it displays.
Who can use OutbreakWatch
OutbreakWatch is for a general audience. You must be at least 13 years old to use it. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use OutbreakWatch with the permission of a parent or guardian.
Not medical advice
Everything in OutbreakWatch is general educational information. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation, and it does not replace a healthcare professional. Activity levels describe reported activity in a population, not your personal risk, and OutbreakWatch never tells you a place is “safe”.
The full Health Information Disclaimer is part of these terms.
In an emergency, call 911 in the U.S. or your local emergency number. Do not rely on OutbreakWatch in an emergency.
Data, delays and accuracy
- OutbreakWatch is not real-time. Official sources publish on their own schedules (often weekly) and data can be revised, delayed or incomplete. Each figure shows its source and the period it covers.
- Where official data is missing or too limited, OutbreakWatch says “not enough data”. That does not mean there is no disease.
- We work to present official information accurately, but we can't guarantee that every figure, summary or notice is complete, current or error-free. Always check the original official source, which we link wherever possible, before making important decisions.
Ask Nicole
Ask Nicole is an automated assistant, not a person or a clinician. It answers only from OutbreakWatch's official data, guides and Help Center, does not diagnose, and does not recommend medicines or doses. Its answers can be incomplete or wrong. Don't include personal or identifying details in your questions. Questions are answered on your device; see the Privacy Policy.
Travel and airport information
Travel health information summarizes official notices and guidance; requirements for your trip (entry rules, vaccinations, medicines) should be confirmed with official sources and a healthcare professional. Airport status shows official FAA airport-wide programs for U.S. airports and recent airport weather reports; it does not cover individual flights. Check with your airline before you travel. OutbreakWatch does not show security wait times.
Acceptable use
You may use OutbreakWatch for personal and non-commercial purposes, and share links to it. Please don't:
- Use the service to spread false or misleading health information, or present OutbreakWatch content as coming from an official agency.
- Overload, disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, or collect data from it at a volume that degrades it for others (automated requests are rate-limited).
- Remove source attributions or dates from content you share.
Content and attribution
Public data and notices remain the work of their publishers (for example CDC, WHO, the U.S. Department of State, FAA and NOAA) and are subject to their terms; see Data sources. The OutbreakWatch name, logo, design, summaries, guides and software belong to Infinivue Inc.
Other websites
OutbreakWatch links to official reports and other websites we don't control. Their content, availability and privacy practices are their own responsibility.
Disclaimers and liability
OutbreakWatch is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Infinivue Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for decisions made based on information in OutbreakWatch. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that cannot be waived.
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of OutbreakWatch at any time.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version, and continued use after an update means you accept it. Questions: support@myinfinivue.com.
