Privacy: what OutbreakWatch stores
No account, no tracking. Your area, saved places, trips and answers stay on your device.
- No account is needed and there are no ads or third-party analytics trackers.
- If you allow it, the app sends one anonymous count a day (app version, the country from your region setting, the week you started sending it; no ID or location) so we know how many people use it. The app asks once; it sends nothing unless you tap Allow. Change it at any time in Profile → Anonymous daily count.
- Near me matches your location to an area on your device; coordinates aren't sent to OutbreakWatch.
- Saved places, labels, followed diseases, trips and your Home area are stored only on your device (or in your browser on the website), not in an account.
- To show data for your saved places and trips, the app asks our server for official data about those areas. The request contains area codes only (for example a county or country), with no name, account or precise location, and OutbreakWatch doesn't save it.
- Your phone's own backups (for example iCloud Backup or Google backup) may include the app's saved places, as with any app.
- What should I do? answers are never stored or sent.
- Questions to Ask Nicole are answered on your device and aren't sent to OutbreakWatch or saved.
To remove everything, delete the app, or clear this site's data in your browser.
