Check what's spreading near you
Choose your area once; the Home screen then shows a plain-language summary every time you open the app.
- Open the Home screen.
- Tap Use my current location, or search for a city, county, U.S. state or country.
- Read the summary: it says which diseases are at Elevated or High reported levels, which are increasing, and whether official notices cover the area.
- Tap What should I do? for guidance, or Full report for every data series and its source.
- To switch areas, tap Change. Saved places appear as quick buttons under your area.
Official data is not published for individual cities. When you choose a city, OutbreakWatch shows the smallest surrounding area that has data: usually the county in the U.S., otherwise the country. U.S. county data often comes from the state, and the summary says so.
Your location is matched to an area on your device. Your coordinates are not sent to OutbreakWatch.
