What OutbreakWatch is (and isn't)
OutbreakWatch puts official CDC and WHO disease data into plain language, with the source and date on every number.
OutbreakWatch shows what infectious diseases are being reported around the world and near you: COVID-19, seasonal flu, bird flu (H5N1), measles, mpox, RSV, dengue and emerging outbreaks. It also brings together official travel health notices and step-by-step guidance on what to do.
- Every number comes from an official source such as the U.S. CDC or the World Health Organization, and shows its source and the date it covers.
- Official agencies publish on their own schedules, usually weekly. OutbreakWatch is not real-time.
- Levels describe reported activity in a population. They are not your personal risk.
- OutbreakWatch never calls a place "safe". Missing data is shown as "Insufficient data", never as zero.
- It is free. There are no ads and no tracking. The app sends an anonymous daily count only if you allow it, and you can change that at any time in Profile.
OutbreakWatch is educational. It does not diagnose illness or replace a healthcare professional. In an emergency, call 911 in the U.S. or your local emergency number.
